Writer & Director based in London
At Festivals: ENGLISH BEASTS (2026)

1862. The Canadian wilderness. Two Englishmen have been climbing for weeks, but the peak is still not in sight. Driven by ignorance, arrogance, and a frantic colonial greed, they are desperate to reach the fabled Cariboo gold fields. But the mountain is indifferent to their pride. As their bodies fail and their masks of civility crack, a blood-stained axe and a stolen photograph trigger a violent psychological break. This is the unmaking of men.

About

Nikolas HarrisI’m a writer and director drawn to character-led stories about people pushed to their limits. Physically, psychologically, and emotionally.
I started with my mum’s old 35mm camera when I was eleven, and by fourteen, I was hooked, roping school friends into making backyard action and horror films, learning by doing and figuring things out as I stumbled along. At nineteen, I wrote and directed my first feature, Then I Was Lost, which went on to win Best Director and screen at festivals nationally. Since then, my work has included the period thriller Once Upon a Time in England and the WWII drama The Deserter, with international screenings including San Francisco. I recently completed production on ENGLISH BEASTS, a period thriller, which is currently on the 2026 festival circuit.I’m interested in what happens when control slips, when identity, belief, or certainty begins to break down. My work focuses on atmosphere, performance, and the tension between what’s said and what isn’t.If you'd like to get in touch fill in the form below or find me on instagram at @nikharrisnikharris.
